My crowning moment was getting paid $45 an hour—at age 16—to perform closeup at a ‘restaurant.’

It was at a kids gymboree type of place.

My job was to entertain the adults who were sitting bored at the cafeteria tables while their kids crawled, jumped and drowned in the ball pits.

They hired me for a couple of hours on Sundays, one July.

The gig lasted only four weeks because they went out of business in August.

Maybe they were paying me too much. 😉
